Asset management planning and governance support
Wagtail Red supports councils to strengthen asset management planning, governance and decision-making through a range of bespoke services, including:

In addition, and in recognition of limited capacity, high audit expectations and the need to prioritise what is realistic and defensible, Wagtail Red also offers RAMP5, a practical, five-step framework developed to support councils move from reactive maintenance to confident, strategic and compliant asset management. It has been designed specifically for rural, remote and Indigenous councils.
We also bring extensive disaster and recovery experience, from leading rebuilding programs to ensuring long-term asset management is considered as a core part of reconstruction efforts.

This work is grounded in lived experience leading infrastructure, engineering and operational teams within highly constrained and high-pressure regional and rural local council environments and includes our popular Toolbox Talks workshops. These workshops provide engineering, technical and operational teams with the tools needed to enhance communication, foster trust and develop clear, actionable agreements that reduce conflict, enhance performance and cultivate a positive work culture, enabling the successful implementation of asset management change programs.

Community engagement and mediation
Infrastructure decisions affect communities directly. Wagtail Red supports councils to engage clearly, respectfully and constructively with communities when decisions are complex, contested or high-impact. Our services include:
